Time to Talk Campaign

The Havant and East Hants Mind team got behind this year's national Time to Talk campaign spearheaded by National Mind and Rethink; funded by the Department of Health, Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund.

The aim of the campaign is to get as many people as possible across England talking about mental health.

By joining together on one day, we can break the silence that often surrounds mental health, and show that talking about this once-taboo issue doesn’t need to be difficult.

The staff team handed out many free tea-bags and other free items to encourage open conversations about mental health and to promote openness around mental health stigma and discrimination.  The team spoke to members of the public, in the local shopping precinct, the local library, a local café and within the local community centre.  We had an enjoyable afternoon talking to people about a subject that we are passionate about.  We managed 252 conversations-  smashing last year’s high of 103 conversations about mental health.

Big thanks to the wellbeing Team, volunteers & Hub Reception staff and the Hub café staff.
