Tea rooms are good places to relax, meet friends, to feel safe and comfortable and to find out what else is going on in the community.
Three local tea rooms are showing their support for Havant and East Hants Mind by offering to host one of our collection boxes and to share information about our services.
In return we’d like you to pop in whenever you can to show your support for these great establishments and to let them know how much this kind gesture is valued. The three excellent establishments have amazing, welcoming staff as well as great food, cakes and drinks.
Our three pioneers are
• Ruby’s Tea Rooms, Mengham, Hayling Island
• Northney Farm Tea Rooms, Northney, Hayling Island
• Bowlers’ Café – in Havant Park
In the fight to de- stigmatise mental health it is important for our communities to stand up and normalise support and discussion about mental health. Their support is saying to everyone “It’s not just about the 1 in 4 people with mental health issues”; we all have mental health just like our physical health and it is on a spectrum. It is affected by disease and external factors.
Havant and East Hants Mind is helping local people to identify how to keep well and to give support to recover if the worst should happen. We want to thank all those who support us and support each other. Over 2018 we want ramp up our presence in the community and you are all part of that ambition. Well done to the team rooms and let’s drink a cuppa to that!
