The Freemasons of South East Hampshire welcomed dozens of charities to its cheque presentation evening on the 25th of April 2016. The event was attended by the Mayor of Havant and Consort together with the Masonic Grand Master for the Hampshire and the IOW and his deputy.
Many of the Southern Area’s Masonic Lodges took the opportunity to acknowledge formally their endorsement of many great local causes and in total presented over £30,000 to support them.
Five Heads Masonic Lodge in Horndean has nominated Havant and East Hants Mind as its charity for 2015/16. This year’s Master of Five Heads Masonic Lodge, Mr Richard Joyce of Hayling Island, explained that he has lived in the local area all his life and through the partnership and support from the Masonic Lodge he and his members have become more aware of the good work of Havant and East Hants Mind’s contribution over the last 23 years. It is their intention to continue to support and promote Havant and East Hants Mind’s work for the rest of the year. Mr Joyce handed over generous donation cheque for £500 on behalf of the Masonic Lodge and its members with the promise of more to come in the future.
All at Havant and East Hants Mind are grateful for the contributions of the Masonic Lodge which will help us to support more people in need of mental health recovery or to live with a severe and enduring illness. We were also pleased to see that many other charities we work with were also supported by the Masonic brethren, meaning we can provide the best and most joined up approach for clients with complex needs in our community.
