Service users and carers – have your say on the Mental Health Act
Service users and carers with experience of the Mental Health Act are asked to complete an online survey to have their say on an Independent Review of the Act.
The Mental Health Act 1983 is the law in England and Wales that covers assessment, treatment and rights of people with a mental disorder. This includes when a person can be admitted, detained, and treated in hospital without their agreement. The review has been set up to listen to people who have experience of the Mental Health Act so they can comment on what future practice and or the law should look like. The survey, which closes on 28 February 2018, can be completed online and includes questions about individuals and their experiences.
